Institute of Indology and Tamil Studies
In Summer 2012, the Institute for South Asia and Southeast Asian Studies was founded after an amalgamation of the Institute for Indology and the Malayological Institute of the University of Cologne occured. Its research and teaching focuses on historical and contemporary cultures as well as the interaction between the regions of South Asia (especially in the area of today's Tamil Nadu, South India) and Southeast Asia (especially Indonesia and Cambodia).
